Statements and approvals
The rep signs first. Finance signs last.
Bottom-up approval. The person who closed the deals confirms the statement, the manager reviews it, finance signs off. Errors are caught by the people who can spot them, before any money moves.
Top-down approval finds errors last.
Finance calculates, verifies internally and pushes the numbers down. The first person who can actually see the mistake is the rep, after payday. The dispute travels back up through three inboxes.
So leadership spends time on details it has no context for.
The rep approves on the phone.
They see the amount, the deals, the metrics and any corrections. Approve, or reject with a comment: "Just closed Acme, waiting for it to be added." Rejection stops the flow and recalculation starts.
So missing deals are caught before finance ever sees the statement.
The manager reviews a statement the rep already stands behind.
The step resolves to whoever manages the team at approval time. Away or gone? An admin can approve on behalf, with both names in the record.
So the queue never stalls on one person’s holiday.
Finance signs what has already been vetted.
A fixed list of approvers, comments that stay on the record, a rejection at any step that restarts the flow from step one. Once paid, the statement is permanent.
So the audit trail writes itself.
One number everyone has agreed on.
The same amount in HubSpot, in the app and in payroll, with every approval and comment attached. If something slipped through, an admin can revert an approval with a reason that stays in the log.
So there are zero disputes after payday, and reps believe the number.
